IMSUC-A men's team edge SAI RC 2-1 as 35th State Level Sepak Takraw Championship commences

Imphal, November 09 2021: The 35th edition of the Men's and Women's State level Sepak Takraw Championship 2021 kicked off today at Ibudhou Marjing Hanjang Leikai Information, Cultural and Social Welfare Library Information Club (IMSUC) ground at Heingang Makha Leikai.

The tournament was formally opened in the presence of W Ibohal Singh, Director Tournament Department; K Jayenta Singh, Pradhan Heingang Gram Panchayat; Kh Dorendro Singh, president All Manipur Sepak Takraw Association and H Brojendro, Chief Engineer MI as presidium members.

The tournament being organised under the supervision of the All Manipur Sepak Takraw Association is participated by 8 mini boys teams, 6 mini girls' teams, 8 sub-junior boys' teams, 5 sub-junior girls' team, 7 junior boys' teams, 6 junior girls' team, 12 senior men's team and 9 senior men's teams.

Men's team of the hosts, IMSUC kicked off the tournament campaign today with a 2-1 win over SAI-RC, Takyel in the group A opening match.

IMSUC, after starting positively conceded the second set to rivals SAI-RC but made a huge comeback to complete the game 21-19, 18-21, 21-9 .
