Submit power privatisation report by November 12, UT administration told

The Union power secretary has sought a report on the power privatisation project from the UT administration by November 12, the date on which he would hold a meeting to review the progress of the ambitious project.

After approval from Punjab governor-cum-UT administrator Banwari Lal Purohit, the administration had recently submitted its reply to the ministry of home affairs (MHA). This came after the MHA in September had sought some clarification on the cabinet note sent by the administration to it.

The three-page note sent by the HA had asked the administration to provide details of assets to be shifted after privatisation and retained, current revenue of the department, employees` strength, performance, liabilities, provision of formation of trust, details of liabilities of employees, infrastructure strength, provision of Electricity Act 2003, privatisation stage of other UTs, features of transfer scheme.
