Churachandpur, November 09 2021: Director General of Police LM Khaute today kicked off the Siamsinpawlpi Platinum Jubilee Football Tournament at Lamka Public Ground, Churachandpur.

The tournament is being organised by the Sports Sub-Committee of the Siamsinpawlpi (Paite Students' Welfare Association) as a part of its 75th anniversary celebration.

A total of 21 strong teams affiliated to DSA Churachandpur and other district football associations of Manipur will be competing for the coveted trophy and winners prize of Rs 3 lakh.

Two high-profile clubs namely Muvanlai Athletics and Classic Football Academy are accorded direct entry into the knock-out round as invitational teams while 19 other teams including the likes of Manipur State League giants United Khawzim Brothers, Ganggam Soccer Club and AMFA Cup outfit SYMROPIA FC will be competing from the group-stage.

The tournament's curtain-raiser event saw two football academies from the district - Lamka SC Academy and Pehlum Lamhil Lawm Football Academy, going head-to-head with the latter winning the match 3-0 .

The Chief of Hiangtam Lamka, Thangkhosuanmung Guite along with several order dignitaries, CSOs and student leaders also graced the event.
