Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.62% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 11:16AM(IST)on Wednesday in a weak market.

TIINDIA(up 3.25 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 3.23 per cent), Bosch(up 2.01 per cent), TVS Motor Company(up 1.22 per cent) and Eicher Motors(up 0.67 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Bajaj Auto(down 1.01 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki(down 0.97 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was up 0.62 per cent at 11839.0 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 74.1 points at 17970.15, while the BSE Sensex was down 255.51 points at 60177.94.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 were trading in the green, while 31 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, BHEL, SAIL, Tata Power and FSN E-Commerce Ventures Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of FSN E-Commerce Ventures Ltd., Lakshmi Finance, Williamson Magor, 3i Infotech and KPIT Tech hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Patel Integrat(PP), Vikas WSP, CarTrade Tech Ltd., Radha Madhav and Quadpro ITeS Ltd. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
