The city’s air quality will be ‘moderate’ with the AQI value forecast to be 142. Poor air quality is likely at Shivajinagar, Kothrud and Bhumkar chow areas on the day.
In other news, two leopard cubs were rescued from a 50-feet-deep well in Shingave village in Pune district recently. The cubs received life-saving treatment by veterinary experts at Wildlife SOS and were later released back into their natural habitat.
Many colleges in Pune city are taking cautious steps and closely following the Covid-19 pandemic situation ahead of allowing all students back into their campuses for physical lectures and practicals.
Even though the Maharashtra State government, Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) and Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) have permitted the reopening of colleges, alongside issuing Covid-19 appropriate guidelines last month, not all city-based colleges have resumed full-scale operations in a complete offline mode as yet. Police have arrested two men for allegedly raping the 27-year-old wife of a friend here in Maharashtra, an official said on Wednesday.
The incident took place on Monday in Vasai division of Palghar district. The two accused, both aged 21, entered the woman's house when her husband was away and allegedly raped her, Pelhar police station's assistant inspector B T Ganbat said.
Based on a complaint filed by the victim, the police arrested the two accused the same day, he said, adding that a case was registered against them under relevant sections.
They were on Tuesday produced before a local magistrate who remanded them in police custody till November 13, the official said. (PTI)
