Police ask for help solving South Chicago shooting that left 4-year-old boy critically wounded
Chicago police are asking for the public’s help in finding the people involved in a shooting that critically wounded a 4-year-old boy in South Chicago.
There was an argument between people in the the 8300 block of South Saginaw Avenue and someone pulled out a gun and started firing, hitting a car windshield and striking the 4-year-old in the hand and in both legs about 5:45 p.m. Friday, authorities said. The mother’s car had been double-parked in the middle of the street, said Rahman Muhammad, deputy chief of detectives for Chicago police.
The boy’s mom jumped in the car and drove him to South Shore Hospital, where he was treated and transferred to Comer Children’s Hospital, Muhammad said.
“We’re desperately in need for assistance on this case,” Muhammad said.
