Reels, TikToks, and short videos are currently dominating social media. Making videos on such platforms have become a recent trend among users. And once you tend to open reels/TikTok, then you don’t know where your 2 hours are gone. People around the world, no matter what age group, are making videos to get famous.
The internet is no stranger to videos showing non-Indians grooving to peppy Bollywood songs. Foreigners have a liking and fondness for Bolly tunes. And when you see foreigners dancing to our Bollywood numbers then the video is guaranteed to get viral.
A Singaporean TikTok user named @simplejeee has recreated the iconic song ‘Bole Chudiyan’ from the popular film ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.’ Even now, the songs from the 2001 film are beloved and frequently appear on wedding playlists.
In the video, a young duo is shown imitating every emotion and dancing move of the stars, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Hrithik Roshan. They also imitated Shah Rukh Khan’s deadpan look and Kajol’s enthusiasm in the song. People imitating Bollywood celebs is not a recent concept; in fact, some have become famous doing it, such as Ronit Ashra, who became famous by mimicking Ananya Panday.
The video, which was uploaded to Twitter by a user called Christopher Koulumbus, has received over 9 lakh views, with netizens praising the ace dancer/actor.
While we are not unfamiliar with foreigners attempting to master the technique of cheesy song and dance sequences in Indian films, Ricky Pond is one such content maker who has gone popular. This US-based graphic designer is generally known as the internet’s favourite ‘Dancing Dad,’ with his choreographed numbers earning affection and attention from all around the world.
A user commented “Better than the original!!”, while another wrote “much creativity than whole Bollywood”.
Another user added, “Hahahahaha Oh my God…Ufff what I have seen…The boy imitating Kareena is so hilarious…The way he has put knot to his ‘banyan’.”
A fourth user said, “Aise thumke toh mujhe bhi nhi aate …the nerve of these kids.” Someone commented, “Even the camera angle is on point.”
