A 23-year-old man was killed in a “justifiable” homicide after breaking into an East Side home, assaulting a woman and being shot by the homeowner, police said.

Aram Sida, of Horizon City, allegedly forced his way into a home around 6:30 p.m. Friday in the 11800 block of Vere Leasure Drive near Pebble Hills Boulevard, El Paso Police Department officials said.

Sida then assaulted a 22-year-old woman, police said.

A 20-year-old man, who police identified as the homeowner, told Sida to leave the house and then grabbed a rifle, officials said.

Sida allegedly charged the man with a knife.

The man then fatally shot Sida.

Officers received a report of a shooting and arrived at the home where they found the man, who still had the rifle near him, and the woman outside the house.

The man told officers he shot Sida inside the home, officials said.

An investigation deemed the fatal shooting as “justifiable,” officials said.

No charges have been filed against the man. However, the investigation is ongoing, officials said.
