Kaizer Chiefs star forward Keagan Dolly "believes" Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos is the right man to change the fortunes of the senior national side.

The 69-year-old Belgian, who replaced Molefi Ntseki in May, has only overseen four matches and is yet to taste defeat.

With South Africa edging closer to advancing to the next round of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, Broos has bolstered his 24-man squad by recalling Dolly.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns player was a noticeable name when Broos named his squad for the crucial 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Zimbabwe and Ghana.

His resurgence at the Soweto giants could not go unheeded, and Broos duly recalled the 28-year-old to the Bafana squad.

He began scoring and assisting goals again, with his most recent double coming up against Chiefs' fiercest rivals Orlando Pirates on Saturday.

Speaking at Dobsonville Stadium ahead of the match against the Warriors, the winger revealed that Broos has given the players the necessary belief to go all the way in qualifying for major tournaments.

"It's my first day. I spoke to him the last time when he called me up, and I couldn't make the camp," Broos said.

"But he seems like a really good guy, very calm. Ronwen [Williams] was telling me that he is very calm.

"He gives the players the belief, and I think that is what we need as a country; we need to believe that we can qualify for all these major tournaments.

"I believe that he is the guy to help us believe in ourselves and try our level best on the day to qualify for these tournaments."

Dolly does not expect to jump straight in the starting eleven against Zimbabwe or Ghana.

However, if he does get the chance to play, the winger admits that he does not need to change the way he plays.

"There's not much I need to change. I just need to perform on the day [and] keep playing the way I've been playing.

"We have a really exciting group of players here, and they have been doing well.

"So, for me, if I do get the chance on the day, I just need to keep on doing what I have been doing and try my level best to help the team qualify."

On Thursday, 11 November (21:00), South Africa welcome the Warriors before boarding a plane to take on the Black Stars three days later on Sunday, 14 November (21:00).
