HASSAN: A day after the
Hasanamba temple in
Hassan was closed for the devotees for one year, counting of the offerings in the temple's hundi began on Monday.
Many devotees this time too have dropped letters in the hundi seeking blessings from the deity.
A letter written using blood has been found in which a girl has requested the deity to help her get married to the youth she loves. In her letter, the girl requested the deity to stop her parents from their plans to search for a groom.
Devotees in their letters sought blessings mainly regarding love, education, health and property. Another letter spoke about the bad condition of roads in
Hassan city.
Meanwhile, around 50 members were involved in the process of checking the hundi, which included students, staff from Revenue department and bank staff. There are 12 hundi in the temple premises. The counting started at 8 am and ended at 4.30 pm.
In all Rs 83,89,770 has been collected in the hundis. The temple has earned Rs 63,97,815 by way of entry tickets. During the last year, the collection was Rs 21.34 lakh. In 2013, 2014 and 2015, the hundi collection was between Rs 1 and Rs 2 crore.
