Motorola is prepping a new Android flagship reportedly named Motorola Edge 30 Ultra with model number XT-2201. The phone is said to be internally codenamed "Rogue" and is referred to as "HiPhi" when communicating with external companies. This will be a proper Android flagship that will first debut in China and then around the world.
The Motorola Edge 30 Ultra is reported to have a 6.67-inch Full HD+ OLED display with 144Hz refresh rate and HDR10+. The choice of processor will likely be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 898, a chipset that will be seen in the majority of the 2022 Android flagships including the Samsung Galaxy S22 series. It will be available with 8GB and 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM options along with 128GB and 256GB of UFS 3.1 onboard storage.
The smartphone is said to have a triple rear camera setup featuring a 50-megapixel wide-angle sensor with OIS, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The interesting bit is that the phone is tipped to have a whopping 60-megapixel front camera capable of shooting 4K selfie videos.
There is a 5,000mAh battery to keep the lights on and that too supported by 68W wired fast charging. Unfortunately, the phone will not have a 3.5mm headphone jack and wireless charging support. It is said to ship with the latest Android 12 and also has an IP52 rating for dust and water resistance. The European users will also get a dedicated Google Assistant physical button.
The report adds that the phone will first debut as the Motorola Edge X in China in December. The Motorola Edge 30 Ultra is the name for the global version that will arrive in 2022. There are no details regarding the pricing yet.
