Aid extended to old age homes

Imphal, November 08 2021: Chassad Battalion of IGAR (S) distributed essential commodities and COVID relief items to Happy Homes Old Age Home at Kamjong on Sunday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the unit Medical Officer delivered a talk on "medical precautions to be abided by the elderly people" during the programme attended by over 50 elderly persons.
Yaingangpokpi Company Operationg Base of Mantri-pukhri Battalion also provided assistance to old age home near Kakching village on Monday by handing over COVID relief items, medicines and clothing.
The initiative was taken by Assam Rifles in continuation with its efforts to improve cooperation with the villagers and strengthen mutual trust and to bring peace and harmony, said the PRO.
Meanwhile, in connection with the Thang Ta for Social Change' programme organised by Thang-Ta Observation Committee under the supervision of Kanglei Indigenous Martial Arts and Culture Society (KIMCAS), KIMACS Women Wing and the committee extended aid to an old age home located at Langol on Monday.
Edibles and winter clothes were donated to the home inmates.
The Committee said that the donation was done to show that KIMACS and the observance committee will stand for the aged citizens staying in homes for destitute people.
