BHUBANESWAR: The commissionerate police on Monday said 29 youths have been booked for sharing a video, in which they are seen dancing in the middle of streets by brandishing swords and firearms, on social media. The gang calls itself ‘Koi Bhai Nehi’ (KBN) group.
“We have arrested seven of them so far. While five were already in jail following their arrest a few days ago, two more were arrested on Monday. Raids are being conducted to catch the other members of the gang,” deputy commissioner of police Uma Shankar Dash said.
The DCP said police took the matter very seriously after the video triggered panic among people in the capital city. “It is obvious that anyone would be scared after watching the video. We will not spare anyone, who terrorised people by filming such criminal acts and circulated the video on social media,” Dash warned.
The police said almost all KBN members are jobless and have been involved in petty crimes. They live in different parts of the city.
Unfazed by the police action, the KBN group circulated another video, featuring an unknown man firing in the air from a pistol. Brazen display of KBN groups audacity has left the police red-faced.
