Speaking to media persons during a press meet held at his Lilong Chajing Mairenkhong residence today, the MLA who won the 2017 Assembly election on Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) ticket stated that he would contribute his share to strengthen the saffron party in view of the impending Assembly election.
Karam Shyam also stated that he is pleased with the developmental works taken up by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the grassroots level.

K Shyam further stated that the Deputy Chief Minister accusing him of rice misappropriation at Pherzawl district is also unfounded.
Maintaining that he would stay away from politics if the Deputy Chief Minister can furnish evidence of his accusation, he asked how the former DGP allegedly procured all his immovable assets .
The MLA also asserted that there is no future for a party like NPP which is being led by a leader like Y Joykumar.
Saying that he had distributed appointment orders to 59 eligible candidates of Revenue Department under the die-in-harness scheme without taking even a Rupee, K Shyam contended that he had not wasted any money of Local Area Development Fund.
He also claimed that he constructed his house by taking a loan from SBI and from the retirement benefit of his house.
He then appealed to all to do politics ethically.
K Shyam was a former CAF & PD Minister of the incumbent State Government.
