Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Tuesday at 11:06AM

Lexus Granito(up 4.56%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(up 2.23%), Oriental Trimex(up 2.08%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(up 1.89%), Pokarna(up 1.73%), Ashapura Minechem(up 0.93%), KIOCL(up 0.70%), NMDC Ltd(up 0.41%) and MOIL(up 0.38%) were among the top gainers.

Aro Granite Industries(down 1.14%), Coal India(down 0.47%), Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(down 0.41%) and 20 Microns(down 0.08%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 21.7 points down at 18046.85, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 129.51 points at 60416.1 at around 11:06AM.

Tata Motors(up 2.96%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 1.81%), Grasim Industries(up 1.48%), Bajaj Auto(up 1.21%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 1.03%), Hero MotoCorp(up 0.98%), Divis Laboratories(up 0.95%), State Bank of India(up 0.86%), UPL Ltd(up 0.77%) and Wipro(up 0.76%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Britannia Industries(down 2.49%), HDFC Bank(down 1.51%), Maruti Suzuki(down 1.15%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.14%), Nestle India(down 1.14%), HDFC(down 1.13%), Titan Company Ltd(down 1.13%), Indian Oil Corporation(down 0.93%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.82%) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 0.61%) were trading in the red.
