Bharatiya Janata Party and their leaders are always in the news and these days they are hitting headlines for their bizarre statements. Recently, BJP General Secretary P Muralidhar Rao invited massive flak on social media as he made a statement in which he said that people belonging to Brahmin and Baniya communities are in his pockets.
P Muralidhar Rao addressed a press conference in Bhopal at the BJP’s state headquarters in which he said that BJP is going to lay special focus on scheduled castes and scheduled tribes and not as a vote bank but to address their concerns.
As he said that, a journalist asked P Muralidhar Rao that BJP is a political party pf Brahmins and Baniyas and he is talking about giving special focus on SCs/STs at a time when the party’s slogan is sabka sath, sabka vikas.
In a reply to the journalist, the BJP leader pointed towards his kurta and said that Brahmins and Baniyas are in his pockets. He further said that you (media people) termed us a Brahmin and Baniya party when most workers and vote banks were from these sections.
As soon as the video of P Muralidhar’s remarks video went viral on the internet, Congress President Kamal Nath lashed out at the BJP and said that this is an insult to these sections as the BJP is claiming their right over them.
He further said that BJP is claiming its right over them. What kind of respect is given to these classes whose leaders have played an important role in building the BJP. Adding further to it, he said that BJP leaders have become arrogant due to power.
Later, Rao released a video in which he said that Congress has a habit of distorting facts and statements.
Rao also said that BJP doesn’t discriminate among sections of the society and all Indians should be part of development.
