Tamenglong, November 08 2021: The Joint Tribe Students' Association (JTSA) has appealed to the State Government to construct the Chingkham Police Outpost and take stringent action against all individuals, leaders and organisations trying to create communal tension in the area at the earliest.
In a release, JTSA condemned the people involved in threatening the residents of Chingkham Kabui village and for taking the law in their own hands over the matter of setting up a Police Outpost at the village on November 3 .
The residents of Chingkham Kabui village were also threatened by the members of Lilong Chingkham Mata Development Organisation led by its general secretary to dismantle the houses, it alleged.
It also lauded the police team led by SP Thoubal and OC Lilong PS for arriving timely at the spot and taking control of the situation.
The association alleged that the claims made by Lilong Chingkham Maya Development Organisation in connection to Chingkham Kabui village were without any proof and evidence.
It also urged the organisation to cease such activities at the larger interest of the people and for peaceful co-existence of all the communities and to allow the law to take its own course.
JTSA appealed to the State Government to construct a boundary line with fencing surrounding Chingkham village to prevent any encroachment in the future.
The JTSA further urged the Government to deploy round the clock, additional police personnel at the village to prevent and protect from any encroachments/threats/illegal activities.
