State logs 51 new cases, three deaths

Imphal, November 08 2021: The state on Monday reported three death cases and 51 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 1689 samples tested, registering a positivity rate of 3.02 per cent against 2.88 per cent recorded on Sunday.
The three fatalities took the total number of death cases from Covid-19 in the state to 1937.Two of them were from Imphal West and one from Ukhrul district.
None of them were vaccinated.
Out of the 16 districts, only eight reported fresh Covid cases on Monday with Imphal West recording highest cases at 21.In terms of positivity rate, Kamjong district recorded highest single day positivity rate at 6.8 per cent while Thoubal district recorded lowest positivity rate at 0.8 per cent.
Chandel, Jiribam, Kangpokpi, Noney, Pherzawl, Senapati, Tamenglong and Tengnoupal districts did not report any new positive cases.
The active caseload rose to 699, out of which 54 (7.73 per cent) are in home isolation, 138 (19.74 per cent) in CCCs, and 146 (20.89 per cent) in hospitals while whereabouts of 361 patients (51.65 per cent) are not known as all the CHICs have been shut down.
Among the hospitalised patients, 45 are admitted to ICU/HDU wards, 29 are on oxygen support and 12 on ventilator support.
However, there is no report on number of patients on oxygen and ventilator support from JNIMS even though it has 8S patients.
On the other hand, there are three patients on oxygen support in other CCCs.
There is no updated information regarding bed availability but as of Sunday evening, 721 beds including 133 ICU/HDU beds were available in different hospitals, 2539 beds in different Covid Care Centres and 461 beds (31 ICU/HDU) in district hospitals and CHCs.
So far, the state has recorded 94,737 positive cases and 1563 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month reported 406 new positive cases and 16 death cases out of which 350 new cases and 14 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone According to official reports, the 51 new positive cases included 49 people (24 male & 25 female) from among the general population and two personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) whose samples were confirmed at RIMS (4), JNIMS (4) and other testing centres (43) .
The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (13), Imphal West (20), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (7), Kakching (3), Churachandpur (1), Ukhrul (1) and Kamjong (3) .
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
In the last 24 hours, 44 patients were discharged from home isolation (19), RIMS (2), JNIMS (1) and CCCs (22).The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,24,137 (general population - 1,19,794 and CAPF personnel - 4,343) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,21,501 (general population - 1,17,177 and CAPF personnel - 4,324) and number of active cases is 699 (general population - 685 and CAPF personnel - 14) .
The recovery rate is 97.88 per cent.
A total of 230 D-type and 30 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.
Only 2504 vaccine doses were administered on Sunday and it took the cumulative number of vaccinated persons to 12,53,298 which include 7,53,758 fully vaccinated individuals.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (43,315), Imphal East (27,496), Thoubal (9454), Churachandpur (10,142), Kangpokpi (2782), Tamenglong (3283), Bishnupur (9168), Senapati (2234), Ukhrul (2956), Kakching (6407), Chandel (2341), Noney (1068), Tengnoupal (1067), Jiribam (1022), Kamjong (938) and Pherzawl (464).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (643), Imphal East (461), Thoubal (175), Churachandpur (162), Kangpokpi (61), Tamenglong (14), Bishnupur (190), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (41), Kakching (112), Chandel (39), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 40,005 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,577 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,44,531 tests per million population against the national average of 4,40,583 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.56 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1689 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 3.02 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 9 per cent.
