AR seizes explosive

Moreh, November 08 2021: Moreh Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) seized huge quantities of explosives and warlike stores from a place near Indo-Myanmar border on November 7 .
The troops detected well concealed boxes hidden inside thick foliage.
On closer inspection, a large number of prefabricated Improvised Explosive Device (IED) weighing approx 250 kg were seized along with a large quantity of other explosives and warlike stores, reports our correspondent.
The seized items include 197 IEDs weighing 250 gram and 500 gram, 33 pieces of directional IED weighing 3 kg each, 4 pieces of directional IEDs weighing 4 kg each, 9 pieces of directional IEDs weighing 5 kg each, 50 metres of Cortex (a kind of detonating cord), some electrical wires, 2 pieces of 12V batteries and IED making material weighing about 5 kg .
The recovered explosives have been handed over to Moreh Police Station.
