The Broadway vaccination and mask mandates have been extended again as the Great White Way prepares to welcome international visitors and vaccines for children are beginning to roll out.
Charlotte St. Martin, president of the Broadway League said that since reopening, Broadway has welcomed back over 1,000,000 attendees to theatres in New York City. It is thrilling to see the energy on our stages and in our audiences once again. We are excited to welcome families, children, and more international visitors as our borders reopen and tourism to New York recovers.
The vaccinations will now be required for audience members, performers, backstage crew and theatre staff at least for all performances through Feb. 28, 2022.
The masks will continue to be required inside theatres except while actively eating or drinking.
Under the updated policy, audience members ages 12 and older will continue to need to be fully vaccinated with an FDA or WHO authorized vaccine and present a government-issued photo ID such as a driver’s license or passport. Guests 12 to 18 may present a government-issued ID or school ID with no photo required.
On the date of the performance, audience members must be at least 14 days past their second dose of a two-dose vaccine or at least 14 days past a single-dose vaccine. International audience members must be fully vaccinated with two doses of any “mix and match” combination of an FDA or WHO-approved Covid-19 vaccine.
Guests under 12, when accompanied by a fully vaccinated adult, must show one of the following:
The proof of one dose of an FDA or WHO-approved vaccine at least 14 days before the performance date
A negative COVID-19 PCR test performed by a medical provider within 72 hours of the performance start time.
The test results must clearly show the date and time of the test
A negative COVID-19 rapid antigen test taken within 6 hours of the performance start time. The test results must clearly show the date and time of the test.
