Assures mohalla clinics, well-equipped govt schools in every village
Panaji/Valpoi/Sakhali: Continuing with his campaign for the Goa assembly elections, scheduled to be held early next year, national convenor of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal Monday promised the residents of Sattari taluka that the issue of land ownership rights would be resolved within six months if AAP comes to power in the state.
He also assured to provide well-equipped government schools in every village and give priority to mining dependants with regard to recruitments.
At Pale in Sankhali, Kejriwal assured the mining dependants to restart mining within six months if his party comes to power in the state.
Interacting with residents of Mauxi and Badruk villages in Sattari, Kejriwal, who is on a two-day visit to the state, said the AAP government in Delhi has fulfilled all the promises made to the people there and added that he will introduce ‘Mohalla clinics’ or free medical clinics in all the village panchayats in Goa.
“To take medication, Sattari villagers will not have to visit the community health centre situated at the taluka’s headquarters in Valpoi, which is very far away from every village. Free medicines and treatment at these clinics will be provided to people if our government comes to power,” he said.
After listening to the grievances of villagers, the Delhi Chief Minister said land ownership is one of the major issues in Sattari and he will take minimum time to resolve it.
“Farmers of Sattari taluka have been cultivating land for the last 50-60 years but ownership of the land is in the name of the state government amongst other complications. Although, Goa has been free for 60 years, residents have not been able to obtain ownership of their land. But MLAs have never had this problem and have always managed to get land in their names. Representatives of Sattari taluka who have been ruling for the last 50 years have failed to solve the land rights issue,” Kejriwal said also promising free electricity and modern educational facilities to Goans.
“We will solve the land rights issue within six months’ time once AAP comes to power. BJP and Congress both got a lot of chances. This election, give a chance to AAP and you will forget Congress and BJP forever,” he appealed.
Promising better educational facilities in the state, the Delhi Chief Minister said his government has transformed the educational infrastructure in the national capital and assured good quality government schools in every village of Goa.
“AAP is an honest party. Earlier, there were no teachers in some of the schools in Delhi. While some schools were shut, others did not have proper infrastructure because of which many people discontinued their children’s education from those schools. But today, everything has changed and now people who chose private schools for their children are enrolling them in government schools,” said Kejriwal.
In Pale, he assured the mining dependants to restart mining within six months if AAP comes to power in the state. He also assured them of a dole of Rs 5,000 per month until mining restarts.
Leaders of AAP including Rahul Mhambre, Satyavijay Naik, Puti Gaonkar, Sushma Priolkar, Rajdeep Naik, Surel Tilve and others were also present during the interaction with villagers in Sattari and Sankhali.
