LUCKNOW: As many as 17 suspected cases of dengue reported at government hospitals in Lucknow on Sunday. Of these, 16 were admitted at Lokbandhu Raj Narayan Combined hospital while one was admitted at
Balrampur hospital.
All these patients were tested through the card method, which is not considered confirmatory by the health department.
However, no new person who came with symptoms of fever tested dengue positive at Dr Syama Prasad Mukherjee (Civil) hospital.
At Lokbandhu hospital, apart from the 16 admissions, nine patients previously admitted in the dengue ward were also discharged on Sunday.
Since November 3, the hospital has had 57 suspected dengue patients admitted to the facility till now, while 61 patients have been discharged in the same duration.
At Dr Syama Prasad Mukherjee (Civil) hospital, medical superintendent Dr SK Nanda said, "No new cases of dengue came on Sunday but we have 16 suspected patients admitted currently. Since it is a holiday, people have not come out for testing but it is expected that more people will report in a day or two."
"On Saturday, we had two dengue cases," he added.
On November 3, Lokbandhu hospital had admitted as many as 24 dengue patients, followed by 10 patients on November 4, one patient on November 5, six patients on November 6 and finally 16 patients on November 7.
