Aston Martin Valkyrie Rolls Off Production Line — 1,139bhp Hypercar Is Ready To Rumble

Each of the 150 Aston Martin Valkyries coupes takes a total of 2,000 man-hours to create as they are all handcrafted at the company's headquarters in Gaydon, England. Each coupe is expected to cost between two and three million pounds as standard.

After the coupes are completed, Aston Martin will produce 85 convertible versions of its first-ever hypercar. After all the road going Valkyries hit the streets, 40 more AMR Pros, a more bonkers track-focused version of a car that already looks like it should start Le Mans, will hit the production line. Both the convertible and the track-spec AMR Pro Valkyries are expected to cost a whole lot extra when compared to the 'regular' coupe.

However, if any of the three Valkyries models catches your eye, don't bother as all are said to have already found homes. The Aston Martin Valkyrie is the brainchild of the Red Bull Racing F1 team's Chief Technical Officer Adrian Newey and was first revealed in concept guise as the AMRB 001 when the two teams were partners in the racing series. Now, the two teams are rivals on the track.

However, there does seem to be a small drop in performance from the Valkyrie in terms of raw horsepower numbers. When details about the Valkyrie were first released, Aston Martin claimed that the car's hybrid powertrain would produce 1,160bhp and 900Nm of torque. However, the latest figures from Aston Martin have revealed a drop of 21 bhp with the production-spec car producing only 1,139bhp.

However, that shouldn't really bother owners as they can still hear the magnificent soundtrack of the screaming Cosworth V12 engine that revs all the way up to 11,100rpm. The Valkyrie gets its electric motor and battery pack for the KERS hybrid system from Rimac, the owners of Bugatti and makers of the Nevera electric hypercar. The electric motor produces 160bhp with the rest of the power coming from the high revving naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12.

when it hits the track, the Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro will only feature the screaming V12 engine, which is expected to kick out over 1,100 in the track-only monster.

The Aston Martin Valkyrie is the first-ever hypercar from the British carmaker and it shows just how crazy a car can be when designed by a genius like Adrian Newey. The last time a F1 designer really went to town on a road car, we had the record-breaking Gordon Murray designed McLaren F1, this time we have a road-going racer that should hopefully break a few records of its own.
