1 dead after shooting in downtown Five Guys restaurant Sunday
Indianapolis police are investigating after a person was shot and killed inside a downtown restaurant Sunday.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police officers were called to the Five Guys restaurant, 48 E. Washington St., around 4:45 p.m. on reports of a person shot. A man with at least one gunshot wound was taken to an area hospital in critical condition, according to IMPD Lt. Shane Foley. The victim was later pronounced dead.
A person of interest was taken into custody at the scene and was "cooperative" with officers, Foley said.

As the investigation is ongoing, IMPD could not immediately determine whether the homicide would be classified as criminal.
On Wednesday, a woman's death marked the city's 215th criminal homicide of the year, tying last year's record for the most criminal homicides in the city's history.
