French network operators add over 1,100 5G cell sites in October

The number of 5G cell sites emitting a signal across mainland France increased by 1,135 during October to a total of 19,824 as of 01 November, according to spectrum agency ANFR. The pace of deployment was stable month-on-month (+1,130 in September). The overall 5G footprint includes antennas in or ready for commercial service, and represents 66 percent of the infrastructure sites on which network operators have already obtained a permit to roll out 5G services. The agency has so far authorised 5G installations on existing mobile towers used for 2G/3G/4G, with the exception of three cell sites
