Oppo's A-series of budget smartphones has received a new member i.e. Oppo A16K in the Philippines. This is an entry-level smartphone and is a toned-down version of the Oppo A16 launched earlier this year. The major difference is that the new offering has just a single rear camera as compared to the triple camera setup.
The Oppo A16 sports a 6.52-inch HD+ (1600 x 720 pixels) display with a dew-drop notch. The panel offers the standard 60Hz refresh rate with "eye-care" and 269ppi pixel density. Under the hood, it has the MediaTek Helio G35 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. The phone has a single 32GB onboard storage variant with microSD card support (up to 256GB).
The phone has a single 13-megapixel camera on the back panel. This is certainly an outdated choice as contemporary budget phones can be seen with at least a dual-camera setup. The front camera on the phone is a 5-megapixel sensor and housed within the notch.
The whole package is powered by a 4,230mAh battery that should last at least a day with ease. It will run ColorOS 11.1 Lite based on Android 11 out of the box. Other noteworthy features include a 3.5mm headphone jack, USB Type-C port, Bluetooth v5, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The Oppo A16K has been priced at PHP 6,999 (around $140) for the sole 3GB/32GB variant.
