SRINAGAR: Terrorists on Monday shot dead a civilian in Bohri Kadal area of the city, officials said.
The man, identified as Mohammad Ibrahim Khan, was a resident of Bandipora district.
"Terrorists shot at Khan around 8pm after which he was rushed to a hospital in a critical condition," officials said.
According to officials, Khan worked as a salesman in the nearby Maharajgunj area.
Security forces have cordoned off the area to trace the attackers and investigation is currently under way.
This is the second attack by terrorists in Srinagar in the past 24 hours. A police constable was shot dead in the Batamaloo area of the city on Sunday evening.
National Conference leader Omar Abdullah condemned the killing of the civilian.
"The dastardly killing of Ibrahim is reprehensible & I unreservedly condemn it. Unfortunately Ibrahim is the latest in a series of targeted killings in the valley, especially Srinagar. May Allah grant him place in Jannat," he tweeted.
