2 injured in shooting near 13th Avenue, Van Buren Street in downtown Phoenix

A shooting near downtown Phoenix left two people seriously injured early Monday morning.

Police responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 6:45 a.m. near north 13th Avenue and west Van Buren Street. When officers arrived, they found one man and one woman with injuries from gunshots, according to the department.

Both were transported to a hospital, the department stated.

Preliminary information gathered by police has indicated that the suspect vehicle was a dark colored sedan, but did not release any other information about the shooting.
