MUMBAI: NCP spokesperson Nawab Malik on Sunday alleged that NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede was part of a conspiracy to kidnap actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan for ransom, while ex-BJP leader Mohit Bharatiya was mastermind of the entire plot.
Malik made it clear that his fight was neither against BJP nor against NCB, but he will continue his campaign against the wrongdoers in the system. Both Wankhede and Bhartiya have denied Malik’s charges, saying they are baseless and false.
“I’m making the statement with full responsibility. Wankhede was part of the plot in collaboration with Bharatiya, who is part of Wankhede’s private army. Initially, the deal was fixed for Rs 25 crore, later after negotiations, it was reduced to Rs 18 crore, while Rs 50 lakh was already given. Unfortunately, the deal didn’t work out owing to main witness Kiran Gosavi’s selfie with Aryan, which went viral,” Malik said.
“These are all a bunch of lies. Malik is raising allegations without any basis. Aryan was produced before the magistrate’s court and sessions court where he said he had no complaints against NCB. In the HC, during the bail hearing, neither Aryan nor his lawyer levelled any allegations against the NCB. The defence even filed an affidavit in the HC saying they are staying away from statements made by a politician,” Wankhede told TOI.
A few days after the cruise ship was raided by the NCB, Malik had alleged that the raid was fake and fabricated. Malik alleged that notwithstanding the denial of Wankhede, he has confirmed information that Bharatiya did meet him near a graveyard in suburban Oshiwara. He alleged that besides Bharatiya, his brother-in-law Risabh Sachdeva, Pratik Gabba and Aamir Furniturewala were instrumental in taking Aryan to the cruise ship. While Aryan was arrested, Sachdeva, Gabba and Furniturewala were let off for obvious reasons.
Malik demanded that stern action should be taken against NCB’s quartet — Wankhede, Ashish Ranjan, VV Singh and Wankhede’s driver Mane — adding that they were involved in wrong doings in the NCB’s zonal office.
He said NCB should stop terrorising Shah Rukh Khan on the ground that he too becomes an accused since he paid Rs 50 lakh as a ransom.
