The city of chennai has been inundated with rain. Kolathur, Selvi nagar, Srinivasa nagar, Perambur, Perumalpet, Vallam Bangaru Street, Purasaivakkam, Nose Chetty Street, Kosapettai, Padavattaman Street, Otteri, Connor, and Annai satya Nagar were among the locations personally inspected by the Hon'ble chief minister of tamil Nadu today (08.11.2021). The public staying in the school was also given K.R.M. relief materials such as bread, rice, blankets, and soap.

Stalin, the chief minister of tamil Nadu, has instructed the authorities to speed up the rescue and relief efforts. Due to severe rains in the state, he advised the Revenue Department, Public Works Department, and local government Department to take quick steps to minimize water stagnation in roadways and residential areas. Rains have caused flooding in the districts of chennai, Tiruvallur, and Kanchipuram. After the dams are opened and the excess water is diverted from chennai to their hometowns for the Deepavali holiday, chief minister Stalin has asked the public to return to chennai in two or three days.
