Patna, Nov 08 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said that all required facilities including better connectivity would be provided in Rajgir where Nalanda International University had been established reviving its past glory that existed in ancient times.
Mr Kumar, after Janata Darbar organised at CM secretariat here, told media persons that state government was particular and sensitive to ensure all required facilities in Rajgir to facilitate easy
accessibility and comforts for those including international delegates visiting there due to its historical importance and also for its prominence after Nalanda International University was established. Road
connectivity of Rajgir from Patna and Bodh Gaya had been improved and it would be further reinforced, he added.
Chief Minister said that Pawapuri Medical College Hospital had been established, keeping in view of setting up Nalanda International University. It would help in getting quality treatment to those coming to Rajgir particularly from abroad, he added.
Mr Kumar said that the water of Holy river Ganga would be taken through the pipeline for its supply in Rajgir. To get the facility of Ganga water for usage would be a wonderful experience for those visiting Rajgir, he noted.
Chief Minister said that a new road was under construction for connecting Patna and Rajgir which would reduce the distance to 80 KMs. A plot of 70 acres was kept reserved for Nalanda International University which would be handed to it after construction of its building and premises, he added.
He further said that land could be used by Nalanda University to augment its income so that the institution could not face any financial difficulty.
Chief Minister said that he would visit Rajgir shortly for a meeting with the vice-chancellor and other officials of the university. In the meeting, the discussion would be held to explore what more could be done by the state government to help the University, he added. Process for appointment of professors of the University was as per its norms, he informed.
