Madhya Pradesh: Cops impose fines on over 110 vehicle owners

The police use speed radars and vehicle-mounted cameras known as interceptor to keep a close eye on violators and also imposed certain restrictions on traffic movement.

Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): Traffic Police carried out a checking drive during festival season and imposed fines on 110 vehicles for violating the traffic norms and road safety rules, here at various intersections on Agar Road and Nagda Bypass in Ujjain on Sunday.

The police use speed radars and vehicle-mounted cameras known as interceptor to keep a close eye on violators and also imposed certain restrictions on traffic movement.

Police checked vehicles and commuters for high speed, helmets, driving licenses, number plate and so on, and violators were appropriately fined. As many as 10 cases of traffic violations were registered after checking 60 vehicles. Police also made 4 challans for Overspeed with the help of an interceptor vehicle on Unhel Road, 26 challans on Devas Road, 70 challans near Ninora toll naka on Indore Road.

The traffic violators were warned and allowed to go free after they paid the fine. CSP Jiwajiganj, Ashwin Negi informed that the surprise checking was done on the orders of the SP. The TI and other staff of Chimanganj, Panwasa Police were also present during the check.
