Bharatiya Janata Party chief JP Nadda on Sunday hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for taking the "bold decision" of lockdown amid the COVID-19 pandemic and tackling the ensuing economic challenges. Addressing the inaugural address of the first executive committee after the outbreak of the Covid pandemic, Nadda said, "Decision to impose the lockdown was a taken by PM Modi and within three months after the lockdown, all essential facilities were made available to people across the country. The methodology applied to fight Covid has three Ts- Track, Test and Treat."

India saw a single-day rise of 10,853 Covid-19 infections, which took the country's total tally of cases to 34,355,536, while active cases have declined to 144,845, the lowest in 260 days, according to Union health ministry data updated on Sunday. The death toll has climbed to 460,791 with 526 more fatalities, according to the data updated at 8 am.
 
The Index (AQI) of Delhi continues to remain in the 'severe' category, informed the System of and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR) on Sunday. According to SAFAR's analysis at 6:15 am today, Delhi's overall was found to be in 'severe' category with the AQI standing at 436.
