BHUBANESWAR: Around 11,200 students have locked their choice to take part in counselling, conducted by the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) authorities, in order to take admission in BTech, BArch, BPlan, BCAT and integrated MSc courses.
Those, interested in taking admission in engineering and related professional courses, have locked their choices to choose their favourite colleges. Of 11,200 candidates, most have opted for BTech courses during the choice-locking process, which ended on Friday night.
Though the state has more than 30,000 engineering seats, only 30 per cent would be filled up through the ongoing OJEE counselling. The vacant seats will be then filled up by colleges at their level. "College can enrol students with OJEE ranks," said an OJEE official.
As per the revised OJEE counselling dates, the first-round allotment of seats will be published on November 9. Students will report online for payment of seat confirmation fee and uploading of documents between November 9 (5pm) and November 12 (5pm). If a student does not want to continue with the counselling process, he/she can withdraw from the process by November 13 (5pm).
The second allotment round will be published on November 18 by 5pm. Candidates can report online for admission between November 18 and 20. Students allotted with seats can withdraw from the process between November 18 and 21. The OJEE authorities will publish the final allotment round on November 25 (5pm).
