Wanted in Berks, November 7, 2021

Nov. 7—The Berks County sheriff's office is seeking the following fugitives:

Adonis Aponte, 24, who recently lived in the 700 block of Franklin Street, on burglary and assault charges. He is about 5 feet 10 inches and 170 pounds. Police gave this account: On July 22, Aponte approached a male in the first block of North 11th Street and attempted to steal the victim's necklace. The victim ran into a residence and Aponte broke the door of the residence. Aponte and another male entered the residence and began smashing and destroying items in the residence. The victim called 911 and the males ran out.

Barsheem Johnson, 41, who recently lived in the 600 block of Ritter Street, on assault charges. He is about 6 feet 1 and 210 pounds. Police say that on Nov. 29, Johnson got into a fight and as the victim tried to flee, Johnson pulled out a firearm out and shot the victim in a hand. Johnson is prohibited from owning or carrying a firearm due to multiple felony convictions in New York state.
