A day after the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) won Ellanabad bypoll in Haryana, its supremo Om Prakash Chautala on Friday met Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) patron and former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and party president Sukhbir Singh Badal at their Badal village residence here.

No one except the Badals and Chautala was present in the meeting. Abhay Chautala, Ellanabad legislator, shared the photograph of his father’s meeting with the Badals on the social media. In the past too, the INLD supremo has held some meetings with the elderly Badal.

In September this year, Badal had attended a rally of the INLD to mark the 108th birth anniversary of former Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhary Devi Lal in Jind. The Akali Dal and INLD were alliance partners during the Assembly elections in Haryana in 2019. Further, both Chautala and Badal families enjoy strong bonding and usually take each other’s suggestion over important political and family matters.
