OPCC calls for Odisha Bandh on Nov 12 demanding resignation of Chief Minister in Mamita murder case

Bhubaneswar, Nov 6 (UNI) Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee(OPCC) on Saturday called Odisha bandh on November 12 demanding the resignation of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for shielding the Minister of state for Home Dibya Shankar Mishra involved in the murder of school teacher Mamita Meher.
OPCC Working President Chiranjeevi Biswal said the bandh would be observed for six hours from 6AM to 12 PM and appealed to people to make it a success.
Meanwhile, the Odisha Pradesh youth congress under the leadership of its President Smruti Ranjan Lenka today started its day- night demonstration in front of the Raj bhawan here demanding the ouster and arrest of Mr.Mishra and an impartial inquiry into the murder.
Mr.Lenka said they would intensify and continue their agitation till action is taken against Mr Mishra and all others involved in the murder case are arrested.
He said Odisha Police could not conduct an impartial inquiry as the Minister of state for Home is involved in the case and the Chief Minister is shielding him.
The Youth Congress, Mr.Lenka said, would submit a memorandum to the Governor on November 8 seeking action against the Minister and a fair probe into the incident.
He said if no action was taken by then, the youth Congress activists would hold demonstration in front of the office of the residential Commissioner at Delhi on November 10 and at Jantarmantar on
the next day
The party would also submit a memorandum to the President on November 11 in support of their demand, he said.
