Clean India Campaign at Khumbong Bazar
As a part of the Celebration of Azadika Amrit Mahotsav, a monthlong Clean India Campaign, single used plastic Waste collection and cleaning of vilages and places which was launched on 1st October 2021 at Imphal West District was concluded today at Khumbong Bazar.
During the Closing function Dr. Sapam Ranjan Singh Hon'ble MLA Konthoujam Assembly Constituency and Advisor to CM (Health) attended as Chief Guest, Shri L. Marjitkumar Singh Deputy Director, NYKS Imphal placed the report of the month long programme.
During the month long programme in Imphal West district, 3,865 kgs of single used plastic waste were collected by the volunteers and Youth Club Members from different villages and were disposed off. In Manipur state 2,409 programmes were organised and 70,654 kgs of plastic waste were collected and disposed off properly.
Clean India Campaign at Khumbong Bazar
The Volunteers and women folks of Khumbong also cleaned and collected plastic waste at Khumbong Bazar area. Hon'ble MLA also appealed the people to reduce the single use plastics to save our environment.
The programme was also actively participated by Local Disaster Response Force(LDRF) Khumbong, Imphal West Students Club Khumbong, Fruit Plantation Mission Khumbong, Ward Members of Gram Panchayat, etc.
Plant saplings of Yongchak (Parkia) was also distributed to the common villagers of Khumbong by the Hon'ble MLA. The programmne was appreciated by the public and it will continue in Khumbong area by the local villagers to become a free plastic area.
