30-year-old East Falmouth man dies following his arrest, police say
FALMOUTH — A 30-year-old East Falmouth man died Friday following his arrest in connection with a fight outside a downtown restaurant, according to a release from Cape and Islands Assistant District Attorney Tara Miltimore.
Falmouth Police were on patrol on Main Street at approximately 12.15 a.m. Friday when they saw a disturbance in front of the restaurant, the release said. An officer stopped his vehicle and attempted to break up a fight between Bruce Enos and a 32-year-old man.
Both men were subsequently arrested and taken to Falmouth Police Station, the release said. Enos collapsed at the station and police attempted to revive him and called Falmouth Rescue, which took him to Falmouth Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Miltimore said the other man was arraigned Friday in Falmouth District Court on charges of assault and battery, affray and disturbing the peace. He was released on $5,000 bail.
State police detectives assigned to the Cape and Islands District Attorney's Office, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner are investigating Enos' death.
