FORT PIERCE — A 40-year-old man convicted of dozens of felonies was sentenced in federal court to eight years in prison in connection with possessing a firearm while being a felon, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office this week.

A district judge in Fort Pierce sentenced Gregory T. Fuller stemming from an April 2019 incident in Fort Pierce in which Fuller started arguing with a woman.

According to a federal criminal complaint, Fort Pierce police went to the area of Avenue M and North 23rd Street regarding a man later identified as Fuller, who was pointing a gun at a woman.

Investigators found an unserialized 20-gauge shotgun and six cartridges. The barrel was 12 inches.

The woman said a man threatened to kill her, pointed a “long pistol” at her and hit her in the face.

In an April 2019 jail recording, Fuller is quoted as saying, in part, “If you would have moved out of the way I would have pulled the trigger.”

At the time, Fuller had been convicted of 28 felonies, for crimes including battery on a person 65 years of age or older, lewd and lascivious exhibition in the presence of a correctional employee, burglary of a structure, robbery and burglary of a conveyance, records show.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in Miami investigated the incident with help from Fort Pierce police.
