Officials investigating fire at PetSmart in Colerain Towne Center
A fire broke out at the PetSmart location in the Colerain Towne Center Friday night, officials said.
Emergency personnel with the Colerain Township Department of Fire and EMS were dispatched around 7:17 p.m., with first units on scene arriving to find a fire in the men's restroom that had largely been controlled by the sprinkler system, according to a release.
A fire hose was extended into the restroom to put out the remaining fire, officials said, adding the size and location of the incident caused the response to be upgraded to a structure fire.
Damage to the store is estimated at $5,000, the release states. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation and officials have yet to determine whether the blaze was set intentionally.
Firefighters from North College Hill and Springfield Township, as well as paramedics from Fairfield assisted, officials said.
