As expected the Quarterfinal battle for Srikant went to the distance. Indian started with a bang as he easily won the 1st game by 21-19. Angus levelled by winning the 2nd by 21-12. The real test for Kidambi for the set No. 3. Srikanth took the early lead but once again swift looking Taiwanese player fought back by reducing the lead to 19-20. In the end Srikanth prevailed with his trademark down the line smash to win the 3rd game and match 21-19.
Srikant will now take on in-form & 2nd seed Lee Zil Zia of Malaysia in Semifinals of Hylo Open 2021 on Saturday.

Srikanth Enter Semifinals: Beat NG Ka Long Angus of Taiwan 21-11, 12-21, 21-19
3rd Game: Srikanth wins 3rd Game and Match by 21-19 and will now play 2nd seed and in-form player Lee Zil Zia of Malaysia.
2nd Game: Like yesterday against Dong Keun Srikanth again has lost the 2nd game tamely to NG Ka Long Angus by 21-12. Srikanth committed errors and No. 3 seed has fought back in the match.
1st Game: Srikanth is looking in a smashing form as he has easily won the 1st game against 3rd Seed Taiwanese player. Former World No. 1 wins the 1st game by 21-11.

Earlier on Thursday Lakshya & former World No. 1 Srikanth won last 16 encounters in contrasting styles. Srikanth in a well contested match defeated Dong Keun Lee of South Korea in 3 sets.
But the performance of the day came in from Lakshya who upset 4th seed Tzu Wei Wang of Taiwan for place in the last 8. Meanwhile Sourabh Verma lost in straight games to Thailand’s Kantaphon Wangcharoen and crashed out of the tournament.

Srikanth will now take on 3rd seed NG Ka Long Angus of Taiwan in Quarterfinals on Friday evening.
Sourabh Verma lost to Kantaphon Wangcharoen (THA) 21-13, 21-10
Meanwhile, 36th ranked Sourabh Verma has lost to 11th ranked Kantaphon Wangcharoen of Thailand. Sourabh was no match for the fast moving Thai and lost in straight games to crash out of the tournament.
