The national executive of the Bharatiya Janata Party scheduled to be held in New Delhi on November 7, could discuss the Goa assembly polls scheduled during early 2022, along with similar polls in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Manipur and Punjab.

“However, if the deliberations does take place about the Goa assembly elections, it would just be an overview and not in detail,” the state BJP  sources maintained, adding that the party’s in-charge for Goa assembly elections Devendra Fadnavis is constantly apprising the BJP central leadership of the political situation in Goa, and the party’s ongoing preparations for
these polls.

The state BJP sources further maintained that the mixed results of the recently held by-elections to three Lok Sabha constituencies and 30 assembly seats in states, including Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal, Karnataka, Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and Rajasthan, and forthcoming assembly polls in the five states could find a place at the national executive of the party.

The agenda for the national executive meeting includes the party president’s address, condolence resolution, discussion and resolution on forthcoming assembly elections and other current issues.

The meeting will commence at 10 am and conclude at 3 p. m on
November 7.

The meeting is expected to have two sessions of which, the inaugural session will be addressed by national BJP president J P Nadda, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the concluding session. BJP state president Sadanand Tanawade informed this daily that in view of the coronavirus pandemic, only some members of the national executive committee and Union ministers residing in Delhi will be attending the meeting.

“The other party members will attend the meeting virtually, with every state having made its own arrangements at the respective party headquarters for two-way online participation at  the meeting,” he added, stating that if the national executive desires to discuss the Goa assembly elections then such discussion would be facilitated virtually.

Tanawade said state executive members of the party will be attending the national executive meet virtually from the start to end.

“We will be keenly following the national executive from our Panaji headquarters,” he added.
