MHJU appoints full set of executives

Senapati, November 04 2021: The Manipur Hill Journalists' Union (MHJU) on Thursday appointed the remaining full set of its executives for the tenure of 2021-2024 .
According to an office memorandum signed by president and general secretary of the union, the new posts were appointed as per power conferred to the elected executives by the Election Commission during its 6th edition of the presidential election of MHJU held at Manipur Press Club on October 8.The journalists who were appointed for the tenure 2021-24 are Lalmalsawm Sellate of Churachandpur district as vice president, LD Samuel Pao of Senapati as joint secretary, Addie Chiphang of Ukhrul as finance secretary and Lester Makang of Ukhrul as information & public relations secretary respectively.
A total of five senior hill journalists namely Ramkung Pamei of Tamenglong district, Valley Rose of Ukhrul, Sothing Shimray of Ukhrul, L Chinkhanlian of Churachandpur and Th Thangzalian of Churachandpur district were also appointed as advisors of the union.
Earlier Hills Hornbill Express (Senapati) editor Peter Adani and Zogam Today (Churachandpur) editor S Nengkhanlun were elected as the president a'nd general secretary respectively during the presidential election.
Mention may also be made that journalists from hill districts of the state including Chandel, Churachandpur, Senapati, Tamenglong and Ukhrul represent the Manipur Hill Journalists Union (MHJU) .
