Lays foundation stones, dedicates various development projects in Kedarnath

Offering prayers at Baba Kedarnath Temple in Uttarakhand and unveiling a 13-foot-tall statue of Adi Guru Shankaracharya at his reconstructed samadhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi Friday said that Indian philosophy talks about human welfare. He said that there was a time spirituality and dharma was connected only with stereotypes and wrong morals but today our culture, our tradition and religious centres are seen with the same sense of pride it should have been seen.

Stating that the third decade of the 21st Century will be for Uttarakhand, Modi inaugurated development projects worth Rs 225 crore under the first phase. He also assured people that with great speed of development works, more tourists will visit Uttarakhand in the next 10 years than in the last 100 years.

Recalling his interaction with soldiers at Nowshera yesterday, on Diwali, Mr Modi said, he took the feelings of 130 crore Indians to soldiers. Mr Prime Minister said, today he is on the land of soldiers and in the divine presence of Baba Kedar. The Prime Minister quoted a verse from Ramcharitmanas –

The Prime Minister said, new facilities like shelters, facilitation centres will ease the lives of priests and devotees and allow them to fully immerse in the divine experience of the pilgrimage.

Recalling the Kedarnath floods in 2013, the Prime Minister noted that damage caused by the floods years ago was unimaginable. The Prime Minister thanked all the workers, priests, Rawal families of the priests, officials and the Chief Minister for relentlessly pursuing the development works at the Dham.

The Prime Minister said that he kept monitoring the work through drones and other technologies. He said, this combination of modernity with the eternal on this ancient land, these development works are the result of the natural grace of Lord Shankar.

Talking about Adi Shankaracharya, Mr Modi said Acharya Shankar’s life was as extraordinary as it was devoted to the welfare of the common man.

The Prime Minister said, a grand temple of Lord Shri Ram is coming up in Ayodhya. Talking about the contribution of heroes of the Freedom Struggle, the Prime Minister asked the countrymen to visit the places related to the glorious freedom struggle of India and pious places of pilgrimage and get acquainted with the spirit of India.

Mr Modi informed that work is going on at a fast pace on the Chardham road project. Mr Modi said, work is going on to build a ropeway to visit Hemkund Sahib for darshan. He said, in next 10 years, the State will receive more tourists than it did in the last 100 years.

The Prime Minister lauded Uttarakhand and its people for achieving the target of 100 per cent single dose vaccination.

Key infrastructure projects which have been completed, including Saraswati Retaining Wall Aasthapath and Ghats, Mandakini Retaining Wall Aasthapath, Tirth Purohit Houses and Garud Chatti bridge on river Mandakini. The projects have been completed at a cost of over 130 crore rupees. He also laid the foundation stone for multiple projects worth over 180 crore rupees.

The Prime Minister also offered prayers at the Kedarnath Temple. Prayers were offered and celebrations held at 12 Jyotirlingas and 4 dhams and many places of faith all over the country along with the event at Kedarnath Dham, all events were linked to the main event at Kedarnath Dham.

In Madhya Pradesh, special prayers were offered at Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain and Omkareshwar temple in Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh. State Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan participated from Ujjain Mahakaleshwar in the programme along with other dignitaries and devotees.

In Assam, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma virtually joined the Prime Minister’s event at Maa Kamakhya temple in Guwahati. On the other hand, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal also attended the event at Shiva Doul in Sibsagar district.

In Tamil Nadu, the re opening of the Adhi Shankaracharya temple at Kedarnath was celebrated at Chidambaram Nataraja Temple which is one of the 12 Jyothirlingas.

BJP National Jt Secretary and Tamilnadu In charge Sudhakar Reddy and party functionaries participated in the special Puja. Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Dr. L. Murugan participated in the function at Rameswaram.

In Kerala, Union Minister of Culture, Tourism and DONER G Kishan Reddy inaugurated a public meeting at Kalady, the birthplace of Shankaracharya in Kerala. In Uttar Pardesh, the opening of Adhi Shankaracharya Temple at Kedarnath by Prime Minister Narendra modi was celebrated across the State. In almost all major cities at least five Shiv temples were selected for the occasion.

In Himachal Pradesh, the renovated Samadhi of Adi Shankaracharya and unveiling of the seer’s statue at Uttrakhand’s Kedarnath shrine premises was live-streamed at five places, today.

On this occasion, special arrangements were made to listen to the PM’s speech and watch the live telecast of the program from Kedarnath. Union Information and Broadcasting minister Anurag Singh Thakur and Chief Minister Jairam Thakur along with other senior leaders , Saints and devotees attended the program virtually at Jawalamukhi Shakti Peeth in Kangra district.

Likewise, Baijnath Temple at Kangra, Jatoli Mahadev in Solan district, Chaurasi Mandir at Bharmour and Bhoothnath temple in Mandi district were connected virtually to see the live telecast of the program from Kedarnath shrine.

Prayers were also offered at Shankar Math in Hyderabad along with the country wide offerings linked to the event held at Kedarnath Dham. BJP Telangana State President B. Sanjya along with many faithful offered prayers at the Math. Speaking to media on the occasion, he demanded the state government to restore temples that are not able to conduct even basic rituals.

Stating that taking up dharmic activities should not be considered as communal activities, Mr Sanjay said due to the initiation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, temple is being constructed at Ayodhya.

In Uttar Pradesh, the opening of Adhi Shankaracharya Temple at Kedarnath by Prime Minister Narendra modi was celebrated across the state. In almost all major cities at least five Shiv temples were selected for the occasion.

There was arrangement of live telecast of the function and rituals of Rudra Abhishek was performed. Special pooja was organised at major religious cities like Mathura Ayodhya Varanasi, Prayagraj, Bareilly Lakhimpur Khiri, Aligarh and Gorakhpur.

Many ministers of state government along with public representatives and devotees attended the function. State BJP President Swatantra Dev Singh attended the live telecast function at famous Mankameshwar Shiv temple in state capital Lucknow.

On the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Kedarnath Yatra and unveiling of the statue of Adi Shankaracharya, special prayers were offered at Baba Baidyanath Dham temple located in Deoghar district of Jharkhand. The arrangements for a live broadcast of Special prayer from Kedarnath for devotees was also made at Baba Baidyanath Dham temple. State BJP President cum Rajya Sabha MP Deepak Prakash and Godda MP Nishikant Dubey today accompanied the auspicious prayer ceremony at Deoghar.

Godda MP Nishikant Dubey said that there was a lot of confusion regarding the Jyotirlinga located at Baba Baidyanath Dham in Deoghar, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi, after a conversation with the religious gurus, ended the confusion and now Baba Baidyanathdham located in Deoghar has been accorded the status of 12th Jyotirlinga in the country.

Prayers were also offered at Shankar Math in Hyderabad along with the country-wide offerings linked to the event held at Kedarnath Dham. BJP Telangana State President B. Sanjay along with many devotees offered prayers at the Math. Speaking to the media on the occasion, he demanded the state government to renovate temples that are not suitable to conduct even basic rituals. Mr Sanjay said due to the initiative by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the temple is being constructed at Ayodhya.

In the Marathawada region of Maharashtra, the renovated Samadhi of Adi Shankaracharya and unveiling of the seer’s statue at Uttrakhand’s Kedarnath shrine premises was live-streamed at five places (including three places jyotirlingas), today. On this occasion, special arrangements were made to listen to the PM’s speech and watch the live telecast of the program from Kedarnath.

There was an arrangement of live telecast of the function and special pooja was organized at a Shaktipeeth and religious places Tulja Bhavani Mata mandir at Tuljapur district Osmanabad and Renuka Mata Mandir, Mahurgad in Nanded district.
