PATNA: Both newly-elected JD(U) candidates Aman Bhushan Hajari and
Rajiv Kumar Singh on Friday took oath as members of the Bihar legislative assembly in the presence of CM
Nitish Kumar and many other dignitaries.
Aman Bhushan and Rajiv were elected from Kusheshwar Asthan and Tarapur constituencies, respectively, in the recently-concluded assembly by-polls which were necessitated following the untimely death of two JD(U) lawmakers Shashi Bhushan Hajari and Mewalal Choudhary.

Vijay Kumar Sinha administered oath of membership to both the members at a function organized at the assembly’s reading hall.
With this, the total number of JD(U) in the 243-member state assembly rose to 45 from the existing 43.
Other prominent political leaders present on the occasion were deputy speaker Maheshwar Hajari, parliamentary affairs minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, rural development minister Shrawan Kumar, building construction minister Ashok Choudhary, water resources minister
Sanjay Kumar Jha, food & consumer protection minister Leshi Singh, SC/ST welfare minister
Santosh Manjhi, animal and fisheries resources minister Mukesh Sahni and the revenue and land reforms minister
Ram Surat Rai.
CM Nitish Kumar congratulated both the new legislators on taking oath as the MLAs.
