Speed up Covid vax drive: PM tells Aurangabad administration

Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Nov 3 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday asked the district administration to expedite the Covid-19 vaccination programme and inoculate the district populace at the earliest.
As part of interacting with the districts having low vaccination rate, Modi made the appeal while virtually addressing Aurangabad Collector Sunil Chavan, amid the presence of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and Union Minister of State for Health Bharti Pawar were also present during the televised address.
The Prime Minister said, "As Aurangabad district is the tourism capital of the state, all persons connected with the Tourism sector should be vaccinated on a large scale to boost the confidence of tourists."
Collector Chavan promised that he would soon complete vaccination in the entire district by implementing various initiatives.
Apprising Modi about the ongoing immunisation initiatives, he said, "Vaccination has been increased by implementing the 'Mission Kavach Kundal Abhiyan' under the guidance of the Chief Minister.
"Similarly, 'Mann Mein Hai Vishwas,' a morale-boosting campaign was also organised and attended by the religious leaders and the armed forces personnel," the Collector informed the Prime Minister.
He said, "This programme will continue and its scope will be further expanded. We will provide special funding to the first 25 villages that meet the 100 per cent immunisation target. Vaccination will be completed in the district as soon as possible by conducting various experiments for urban as well as rural areas like 'Mera Ward One Hundred Per cent Vaccination Ward' and 'Saint's Land One Hundred Per cent Vaccination Land'."
