Imphal, November 02 2021: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Imphal West has been organising various legal awareness programmes via radio and television on different topics.

The topics include Rights and Issues of Transgender person with special focus on Covid-19 pandemic in term of difficulties faced by them in different aspects such as availing healthcare facilities and under socio economic and legal services from the state: wage and means to alleviate the problems faced by the transgender community'; Common problems reported by senior citizens especially during the Covid-19 pandemic: Mechanism of functioning of the national helpline for senior citizens (NHCC) Elderline-14569 under Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment: Facilities and Services that can be avail through the helpline; Mahatma Gandhi Rural Employment Guarantee Act, National Food Security Act, Right to Education and National Education Policies, Mob Lynching and Law, Mob Justice and Injustice, Right to Education, Certificates issued by DC Imphal East via online, crime by and against children, Sale and purchase of property, freedom of expression and social media, ADR mechanism and Lok Adalat, which would each be explained in detail by resource persons.

The programmes are being organised by DLSA Imphal West to spread legal awareness among the masses.
