Deepavali festival will be celebrated in tamil Nadu tomorrow. Holidays are given for 4 consecutive days. 


Therefore, a total of 16,540 buses will be operated from chennai for a total of 3,506 special buses, 9,806 buses for three days, and 6,734 special buses for the other three days from other towns, with 2,100 buses operating daily for those staying in chennai for work, study, career, and business.


About 3 lakh people boarded government buses and trains from chennai to their hometowns to celebrate Deepavali. Thus the crowd waved at the bus station and train stations. 


The government of tamil Nadu had made various special arrangements. And so far 1,07,744 passengers have booked and booked to travel.


Wave meeting

All buses operating from different parts of chennai were overcrowded. As of yesterday afternoon, 1.50 lakh passengers had left chennai for their hometowns. 


A further 1,01,662 passengers have made reservations to go on various dates. Similarly, the Southern Railway had announced the operation of special trains for the convenience of those who wished to travel by train. 


Thousands of people travelled without difficulty. As a result, crowds at Egmore and Central railway stations erupted. Similarly, 1,400 Omnibuses were operated in various areas. 

In all, more than 3 lakh people left chennai for their hometowns in government buses, trains, and Omnibuses.


Travel to hometown

Lots of people in cars and bikes left for their hometowns. This caused traffic congestion on the roads. 


Earlier, to avoid traffic congestion, it was advised to go through Thirukka Zhukkunram-Chengalpattu or Sriperumbudur-Chengalpattu, avoiding tambaram and Perungalathur. 


Accordingly, the occupants of the vehicles including the car travelled using the route concerned. There was a long queue of vehicles waiting on the GST road. The crowd is expected to increase further today as many people will be travelling in their vehicles from morning till night.


Special buses to return to Chennai

Those who returned to their hometowns on the 6th and 7th will return to chennai after the Deepavali festival. Therefore, for their convenience, the Department of Transport has announced that from the 5th to the 8th, it will run 4,319 special buses with 2,100 daily buses and a total of 17,719 buses with 5,000 special buses from other major cities to various towns.


Inspection on Omnibuses

Many passengers also travelled in private Omnibuses to celebrate Deepavali. tambaram Regional Transport Officer sudhakar and Motor Traffic Inspector Devanesari inspected the private Omnibuses at the bus stand at Vandalur Kodambakkam.


The regional transportation officer boarded private buses and conducted a vehicle inspection. Passengers travelling on the Omnibus in particular were asked if they had been charged higher fares ahead of the festive season and about safe travel. They also fined private Omnibuses for not having proper documentation.
