Mancherial: Dr Parvati Satyanarayana, a principal of Zilla Parishad Secondary School at Mamidipalli in Dandepalli Mandal, was awarded the National Award of Sardar Vallabhai Patel Memorial for the delivery of outstanding services to the field of education. He received the award from former CBI co-director JD Laxminarayana during a program held in Nalgonda on Sunday. The award, compiled by Pudami, a literary organization, is presented to leading figures in literature, education, law, medicine, engineering, social and cultural fields.
Satyanarayana was congratulated by his colleagues and students of the school for the coveted award. He is an official spokesman for Progressive Recognized Teachers ‘Union and senior teachers’ union leader. He carries a vast experience of 33 years in teaching in different parts of Mancherial district. He worked for a long time as PRTU District President.
The 54-year-old, a native of the village of Narlapur in the Rebbena mandal of the Kumram Bheem Asifabad district, began his career at the Department of Education as a special education teacher in 1987. He cracked the job by excelling in a written test after completing his intermediate course. However, he followed BA Mathematics, B Ed, MSC Mathematics, M Ed and LLB from various universities and then rose to the principal.
